Airport administrators said electrical work, plumbing, heating and cooling are all established, as construction of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport reaches the final stretch. Its characteristics are visibly in sight, as the final installations are taking place for a 12-lane TSA checkpoint, a state-of-the-art baggage claim system and the signature tunnel taking passengers from landside to airside.
Designers say the tunnel walk will mimic the drive through the Fort Pitt Tunnel onto the Fort Pitt Bridge, with electronic imagery to enhance the experience.
