As planes arrived and departed over the active construction site of Pittsburgh International Airport’s soon-to-be modernized Landside Terminal, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald became the first passenger to be driven up the newly paved terminal bridge. Airport Authority staff greeted him as he exited his vehicle and clapped.

“Welcome to what is an unbelievable investment in this community and in the future of Pittsburgh,” said Mr. Fitzgerald, standing on the bridge and addressing media and county officials during a tour of the “nearly halfway done” project.
