PITTSBURGH – Public workshops about the Master Plan Update (MPU), including the recently announced Terminal Modernization Program, at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) are scheduled for Nov. 13 and 14 to give the public a chance to review plans in detail, speak with airport staff, ask questions and submit formal comments.
The Master Plan Update, of which the Terminal Modernization Program is a part, acts as a roadmap for airport development that will accommodate future commercial aviation needs. It provides a guide for efficiently accommodating aviation demand while preserving the flexibility necessary to respond to an evolving industry. The last MPU for PIT was completed in 2006.
The workshops will be held as follows:
-Monday, Nov. 13, 4 – 7 p.m., Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Rd., Coraopolis, PA 15108
-Tuesday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., August Wilson Center, 980 Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
“We welcome the chance to speak with members of our community about this plan and offer them a chance to share their comments before we submit them and the final Master Plan Update to the FAA,” said Richard Belotti, Vice President of Planning for the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
Introduced at an airport news conference on Sept. 12 following approval by the Airport Authority Board of Directors, the Terminal Modernization Program is expected to reshape the future of Pittsburgh International Airport by reducing long-term costs and aligning the facility with the needs of a modern passenger experience.
